Is Art Therapy For Me?
Absolutely no prior experience with art is necessary to enjoy the full breadth of benefits that can be experienced through participation in Art Therapy. Art Therapy is completely process-oriented and the finished (or not-finished) product does not dictate the experience of making art! With a trained Art Therapist, simple art-making experiences can have deep and meaningful psychological implications, and can reveal to us unique perspectives of our lives, the roles we fill, our relationships, our strengths, our needs and desires, our patterns, our emotions and all the ways in which we behave internally and externally.
I’ve worked with countless clients who were intimidated by, or uninterested in, art, but who quickly came to appreciate the efficacy of using art therapy as a tool to gain this valuable perspective.
I am very happy to make modifications based on my clients’ specific needs and I have extensive experience in this realm.
